Confirming a place has become easier: when you check in, the place is automatically confirmed.
✅ Check-in = confirmation
Previously, someone had to write a review before a place was considered confirmed. Now the check-in itself is the proof – you have actually stayed there, after all. This applies to all types of places, both free wild camping and campsites, and both when you check in manually and automatically upon arrival.
⭐ Reviews are now optional
You will still be asked to give stars and a short review after checking in – it helps other travelers a lot – but it is no longer a requirement for the place to count as confirmed. If you are short on time, you can just skip it.
🗺️ Tidier "New places"
Places that were already confirmed keep their original confirmation time, so they don't constantly jump to the top of "New places" every time someone checks in again.
In addition, we have gone through all places that already had check-ins from before and confirmed them, so that the map gives a more accurate picture of which places have been tested.
